We write, produce, direct and distribute our own films as well as produce and direct projects of other filmmakers. Bad Highway staff members are knowledgeable in all aspects of the film making process and endeavor to produce them with the utmost professionalism and craftsmanship.
Bad Highway is an independent film production company based in the Sacramento area. We produce feature length as well as short films. If you have an idea for either contact us and let's see if we can put your idea into production. We accept copy protected material only. If you are a writer protect your work and register it. Once you have it registered and protected we will discuss your project.
What is independent filmmaking? Sometimes referred to as guerrilla filmmaking, filming in the raw, bare bones filmmaking ect. Indie filmmaking is getting it done outside the traditional studio system. It usually involves a very low, sometimes no budget operation. Many "indie" films are financed by ordinary everyday people interested in filmmaking. They sometimes put up the capital to get the projects rolling.
What independent filmmaking lacks in money it makes up for in talent and hard work. Joe Dalton once said "independent filmmaking is the purest form of filmmaking because most of it comes from the heart not the wallet."
